How is paraphrasing different from a writing summary

Paraphrasing is when you express the meaning of something in a passage but in different words. This is a little similar to summaries. But, summarizing a passage means that you take the main idea of the article and put it into words. Basically, you are converting the whole paragraph or article into a sentence or two that sums everything up. Meanwhile, paraphrasing is saying the same thing as a sentence, but using different language.

When you paraphrase you’re only writing an example basically. And summarizing you’re writing what happened within the whole story in a short answer
