Hi!

To solve this, we need to write an equation.

Obviously there are 7 candies in the bowl.

(4)/(7) + (1)/(7) + (x)/(7) = (7)/(7)

Add

(5)/(7) + (x)/(7) = (7)/(7)

Subtract 5/7 from both sides of the equation to find x.

(5)/(7) - (5)/(7) + (x)/(7) = (7)/(7) - (5)/(7)

(x)/(7) = (2)/(7)

x = 2

The answer is
(2)/(7)

Hope this helps! :)
