c (AC) is 5,39 ft according to the Pitagora Theorem were c (or side AB) square equals AC square (2ft) plus CB square (5ft).

c^ 2 = a^2 + b^2

given a = 2 and b = 5

so

c^2 = 2^2 + 5^2

or

2^2 + 5^2 = c^2

answer is the first one

2^2 + 5^2 = c^2
