Find the volume of a right circular cone that has a height of 6.7 in and a base with a circumference of 9.8 in. Round your answer to the nearest tenth of a cubic inch.

We just did one like this; let's do this a different way.


V=\frac 1 3 \pi r^2 h


2 \pi r = 9.8 \textrm{ in}}


r = 9.8 / (2 \pi) \approx 1.55972


V=\frac 1 3 \pi r^2 h = (1/3) \pi (1.55972)^2(6.7) = 17.01

Answer: 17.1 cubic inches
