Both humans and flatworms carry out to produce ATP from the food they eat through the chemical process called Cellular Respiration. It is a chain of metabolic processes that take place within a cell in which the biochemical energy is harvested from organic substance such as glucose, and stored as ATP for use in energy-requiring activities of the cell.
