Let’s take this in two parts. First calculate the sale price by using this equation. 65(1-.45)which gives us 35.75, now we take 35.75 and multiply by 1.1 (to account for the 10% increase) which gives us 39.325 or D.

First, multiply 0.45 (45%) with 65

0.45 x 65 = 29.25

Subtract 29.25 from 65

65 - 29.25 = 35.75

Next, increase the number gotten by 10%. First multiply it by 0.10

35.75 x 0.10 = 3.575, or 3.58

Add 35.75 with 3.58

35.75 + 3.58 = 39.33

$39.33, or (D) is your answer

hope this helps
