A rectangle has a perimeter of 51.6 feet and a height of 9.9 feet. What is the length of the base?

\sf Width, \:w = 9.9 ft

\sf Perimeter = 51.6 ft


\sf Then,


\sf 2(l + w) =
\sf Perimeter \:of \:the \:rectangle


\sf 2(l + 9.9) = \sf 51.6


\sf 2l + 19.8 = \sf 51.6


\sf 2l = 51.6 - 19.8


\sf 2l = 31.8


\sf l = (\sf 31.8)/(\sf 2)

Rectangle:

P = 2(L + W)

51.6 = 2 (L + 9.9)

L + 9.9 = 51.6 / 2

L + 9.9 = 25.8

L = 15.9


Answer

The length of the base = 15.9 feet
