I'd suggest you not use " x " to indicate multiplication. Usually, " x " is used as a variable name, not as an operator. Use " * " to indicate multiplication:

2*10^(-2).

Note that 10^(-2) is smaller than 10^(-1), so eliminate 2*10^(-2) as an answer choice. Then decide which of the coefficients of 10^(-1) is the largest:

3.2, 3, 2.5.

3.2 is the largest.

Thus, the final answer is: "The largest number here is 3.2*10^(-1)."

Here is your answer:

Lets solve each equation to find out which has the greater value:

A. 2 x 10^-2

It's negative so move to the left:

= .002

B. 3.2 x 10^-1

It's negative so move to the left:

= .32 <---- Your answer.

C. 3 x 10^-1

It's negative so move to the left:

Remember each full number has a decimal point that you can't see:

= .3

D. 2.5 x 10^-1

It's negative so move to the left:

= .25

Therefore the answer is option B "3.2 x 10^-1."

Since how:

.32 > .002

.3 < .32

.32 > .25

Hope this helps!
