Simplify -8 > p - 8 by adding 8 to both sides. We obtain 0 > p, which can be re-written as p < 0.


Check: Test this result with p= -2. Is -8 > -2 - 8 true or false?

Is -8 > -10 true or false? It's true. Thus, the solution set is p < 0.
