The answer is Malcolm X.
Malcolm X unlike other black civil right activist his believe of African American liberation was controversial, this was because of his involvement with the Nation of Islam (NOI) was pivotal in shaping his thoughts and deeds. After his visit to mecca Malcolm returned a changed man with a changed message of self-empowerment tempered by tolerance toward all, his preaching was not only for African Americans but to people of all races. Malcolm severed his ties with the NOI, and founded his own religious organizations, the Muslim Mosque, Inc. and the Organization of Afro-American Unity which would better reflect his evolving views.
