During WW2 Germany conqured much of the land surrounding it using the strategy known as the Blitzkrieg. This strategy involved shocking Germany's enemies with fierce and fast attacks. To start they would fly planes at high altitudes armed with bombs. These planes then would "Scream" as they divebombed the enemy troops and positions just a little ways ahead of Germanies Panzer divison. While these two groups would attack the enemies main line the infantries job was just to simply clean up any resistance left behind. This tactic worked for a decent part of the war, but roughly half-way through the fuel supplies began to run low and the tanks would just simply stall. The last time this tactic was used was againist the Soviet Union. Despite the continuing war with Great Britain, German forces invaded the Soviet Union in June 1941. At first, the German Blitzkrieg seemed to succeed. Soviet forces were driven back more than 600 miles to the gates of Moscow, with staggering losses. However the Soviet Union launched a counteroffensive in November 1942, trapping and destroying an entire German army at Stalingrad.
