What did medieval writers sometimes employ gender role reversals?

They did this because most jobs were only accessible to men. Woman were not aloud to do many jobs such as acting.

In the ancient times, specifically in the medieval era. Women were not equal as men. So, with this im mind, the medieval writers use the role that women had in that time for the writings. Women were always depicted as weak and useless, even thoough they considere them beautiful and good care takers of the house and children.
