To add, you must find a common denominator the two fractions. To do this, you must find the LCM of 9 and 27.
9:9,18,27
27:27,
The LCM is 27. Now, what times 9 is 27? 3. So, you have to multiply the numerator by 3 to get a fraction of 24/27. Now add! 24/27+7/27=31/27 or 1 and 4/27. Hope this helped!

Hello there ....

To get the answer, we must do the following to get it:
1.) Find the LCM.
9,18,27
27
The lcm we got is 27... make it your new denominator.

- 8/9 + 7/27 = ?/27 + ?/27 =

2.) Next is, divide the new denominator by the 9 on the 8/9..
= 3
Then, divide the new denominator again by the 27 on the 7/27.
= 1

3.) Multiply the no. you divided by the numberator of 8 by 8/9
=24/27
Then, multiply the no. again you divided by the numerator of 7 by 7/27
=7/27

4.) Add it up.

24/27 + 7/27 = 31/27 ...

It is an improper fraction so we wil just have to divide it.

31 ÷ 27

1 4/27 is the answer to your question.
