In order to find which equation does not represent direct variation, we must arrange each equation into the form

y=mx+b

In direct variation, b , the y-intercept, is 0

in y-intercept is not 0 , then it is not direct variation

1. y-3x=0

y=3x+0

b is 0, so its direct variation.

2.y+2=1/2x

y=1/2x -2

here b is 2, so this is not direct variation.

3. y/x =2/3

y=2/3 x +0

here b is 0, so its direct variation

4. y=x/17

y=x/17 +0

so b is 0, its direct variation

Answer: option B , y+2=1/2 x
