The supporters of the republican party under the leadership of Lincoln generally favor the abolishment of slavery. After winning the civil war, the Lincoln had many new oppositions that led to his assassination's.

Social : Causes Abolitionist movement . Consequences: Period of reconstruction in the south,

The abolitionist movement were a wave of activism that highlight the issues of inhumane treatments that the white citizens did to the African Americans.

After the slaves were freed in southern states, not many people there could accepted the changed directly. The people constantly harassed the ex-slaves and make them have to live their life in fear. This was the reason why Lincoln ordered several reconstruction policies to help former slaves adjusted into the societies.

Economic: Causes : Industrial revolution, Consequences : economic depression in the south.

Industrial revolution provide a new method of productions using machineries. This basically far more effective compared to using slave labors. The northern states already implemented these technologies prior to the civil war.

Since the southern states still relied on slaves labor, they fail to produce the same amount of productions after the lost the civil war. Causing the economic depression in the southern states.
