Dizzy Gillespie and Charlie Parker were two musicians who helped to create a new style of jazz called B. bebop.
Bebop was different than earlier styles of jazz such as swing because it focused more on improvisation, playing a song freely based on what the musician felt in the moment, instead of traditional (preplanned) musical melodies.
