There are many things that fruit merchants and the U.S. foreign-policy makers have in common, like;

They both took an interest in economic imperialism.

They both desired to take control of the market they were in, to be the elite and limited supplier of item/strategy.

They both utilized economic capacity to spread US impact abroad.

Everything above, were being done keeping in mind the end goal to acquire the most extreme benefit for themselves from the greater part of their activities .
