Sue paid two times more than Jen .sam paid three times more plus $200 then Jen . What did each pay? I did it like this

Your working is correct as far as it goes. It shows that

... x = 4200/6 = 700


Then you need to finish the problem. x represents what Jen paid, so

... Jen paid $700

2x represents what Sue paid, so

... Sue paid $1400

And 3x+200 represents what Sam paid, so

... Sam paid $2300
