Since:

a = 6

b = 8

We just use the Pythagorean theorem, like this:

a^(2) +b^(2) =c^(2)

6^(2) 8^(2) = 100

√(100) = 10

So the answer is 10 feet.

Hope this helped! c:

Remark

This is an application of the Pythagorean Theorem. The formula you will be using is a^2 + b^2 = c^2 and you are looking for c

Givens

a = 6

b = 8

c = ??

Sub and solve

a^2 + b^2 = c^2

6^2 + 8^2 = c^2

36 + 64 = c^2

100 = c^2

sqrt(c^2) = sqrt(100)

c = 10

The length of the ladder is 10 feet.
