4/5 x + 4/3 = 2x

subtract 4/3 from both sides

4/5 x + 4/3 - 4/3 = 2x - 4/3

simplifying

4/5 x = 2x - 4/3

subtract 2x from both sides

4/5 x -2x = 2x - 4/3 - 2x

combine like terms and simplifying

4/5 x - 10/5 x = - 4/3

- 6/5 x = - 4/3

multiply both sides by (-5/6)

- 6/5 x * (-5/6) = - 4/3 * (-5/6)

simplifying

x = 20/18

x = 10/9

x = 1 1/9 (1 and 1/9)
