2/5 is smaller than 1/2 ⇒ discard
6 2/5 ≈ 6

6/7 is more than 1/2 ⇒ add 1 to the whole
2 6/7 ≈ 3

6 2/5 ÷ 2 6/7 ≈ 6 ÷ 3 = 2


Answer: (A) 2
