For each necklace, her ratio of blue beads to orange beads is 3 to 2.

How many orange beads will Carlotta need for a necklace of 60 beads?

in plain and short, what is 60 on a ratio of 3:2.

well, the cheap way to do it is to just divide 60 by (3+2) and distribute accordingly, let's do that.

\bf \cfrac{blue}{orange}\qquad 3:2\qquad \cfrac{3}{2}\qquad \qquad \cfrac{3\cdot (60)/(3+2)}{2\cdot (60)/(3+2)}\implies \cfrac{3\cdot 12}{2\cdot 12}\implies \cfrac{36}{24}
