hi

18 - 4 = 14 and you find the sum,

14 : 2 = 7 and you find the single length

(18 - 4) : 2 =

7 is your answer

Let's say the two equal sides are labeled x.

The perimeter equals x+x+4=18.

Now we solve for x:

x+x+4=18 → 2x+4=18 → 2x=18-4 → 2x=14 → x=14/2 → x=7.

So, the length of the two equal sides is 7 inches each.

Have a great day!
