What is the total area of a rectangular prism with a height of 10 feet, a width of 6 feet, and a thickness of 4 feet? A. 240 ft2 B. 248 ft2 C. 950 ft2 D. 592 ft2

A = 2( wh + lw+ lh)

= 2( 6 *10 + 4*6 + 4*10)

= 2* 124

= 248

The answer therefore is B, 248 ft^2

Your answer would be B. 247 ft².
This is because if you draw the prism out, you can use the dimensions to find the individual surface areas, and then add them together.

So you would do 10 × 6 = 60, and then multiply it by 2 as there are two of each side to get 120 ft².
6 × 4 = 24, and then multiplied by 2 = 48 ft².
10 × 4 = 40, multiplied by 2 = 80 ft².

Then when you add together 120, 80, and 48, you get 248 ft².
