Area = 1/2 Base x Height
Let x= Base, then x+3 = height
35 = 1/2(x)(x+3)
35 = 1/2(x2) + 3/2(x)
70 = x2 + 3x
x2 + 3x - 70 =0
(x+10)(x-7) = 0, x= -10 or 7 (-1 is impossible) so base = 7, height = 10
