180 - 88 = 92

Sum of interior angles in a triangle = 180

y + y + 92 = 180

2y + 92 = 180

2y = 88

y = 44

Answer is C. 44

The value of y is found using the exterior angle theorem. This means that the two angles inside the triangle that are not next to the outlier angle are, when added together, equal to the outlier angle. Note that the two inside angles are congruent, being y.

Set 2y equaled to 88

2y = 88

Isolate the y. Divide 2 from both sides

2y/2 = 88/2

y = 88/2

Simplify

y = 44

C) 44 degrees is your answer

hope this helps
