  • A sample with a pH of 6 is described as a weak acid.
  • The pH scale is used to describe the basicity or acidity of a sample on a logarithmic scale.
  • Based on the pH value, the substances can be broadly classified as bases, acids or neutral substances.
  • Further, the substances can be characterized as :
  • Strong acid (pH 1-2 )
  • Weak acid ( pH 3-6)
  • Neutral ( pH 7)
  • Weak base ( pH 9-11)
  • A strong base (pH 11-14)
  • Based on this, a sample with pH 6 will be a weak acid.
