x + 2y = 6

2y = -x + 6

y = -1/2 x + 3 this line has slope = -1/2

parallel lines have same slope so new line also has slope = -1/2

passing thru (-4, 3)

y = mx + b

b = y - mx

b = 3 - (-1/2)(-4)

b = 3 - 2

b = 1

equation

y = -1/2 x + 1

answer

B. y= -1/2 x+1
