How did the United States support Allied forces in World War I and World War II before actually entering the war?

The distributed guns, ammo etc...
pretty much the only reason they joined the war was because germans attacked a boat with irish americans on it and killed them, due to suspicions of the boat carrying ammunition for the enemy.
Even though they joined with the allies, the USA wasn’t affected much as 1) it was too far too bomb. 2) they joined pretty late and so not a lot if their soldiers and died.
