Answer:

The set of numbers which best describes the value of N is:

Natural numbers.

Explanation:

We know that a train starts at one station and goes to the destination station with some stops in between.

Since, the trains has atleast one stop ( Since, it will definitely has one stop at the destination station )

Hence, the value of N is natural numbers.

Natural numbers is the set of all the counting numbers i.e. 1,23,.... and so om.

(

  • Integers could not be a set

since integers is the collection of all positive and negative whole numbers and as number of stops can't be negative.

  • Whole number could not be the possible set

since it contain all natural numbers including 0 and as the number of stops can;t be zero.

  • Irrational number could not be used for counting. )

The answer is: Natural numbers.

The explanation for this answer is shown below:

By definition, the set of Natural numbers, contains all the positive integers. Therefore, if the number of stops a commuter train makes on a certain day is represented by
N, and
N=7 or if it has any other positive integer as its value,
N will always be a natural number.
