Luis works at a department store. He is paid a 5% commission rate on the final sale price of everything he sells. If a suit normally costs $120, but is currently on sale for 50% off, how much commission will Luis make on the sale?

$120 x 50% = $60

Breakdown - $120 x 0.5 = 60 so subtract it from the actual 120 and your answer will be $60 for the current sales price.

He now gets 5% off the $60 which is

$60 x 5% or $60 x 0.05 = $3

Luis will get $3 commission.
