Since the circle is inside the square, the diameter of the circle is the same length as a side of the square.


The length of the side of the square is found by taking the square root of the area:

Side length = SQRT(144) = 12 m



The circumference of a circle is found by multiplying the diameter by PI:


12 x 3.14 = 37.68 = 37.7 m
