!!HURRY IM BEING TIMED 40PTS!!

Tables of values for two different functions are given below. Which statement is true? The right function grows approximately 21 times faster than the left function over the interval 4 < x < 5. The right function grows approximately 21 times slower than the left function over the interval 4 < x < 5. The right function grows approximately 6 times faster than the left function over the interval 2 < x < 3. The right function grows approximately 2.5 times slower than the left function over the interval 2 < x < 3.

The average rate of change in a function from a to b is

(f(b)-f(a))/(b-a).

For the left function, from x = 4 to x = 5, the rate of change is

(100-64)/(5-4) = (36)/(1) = 36.

For the right function, the rate of change is

(1024-256)/(5-4) = (768)/(1) = 768

Using a ratio to compare the right function's growth rate with that of the left function, you get
768 / 36 \approx 21.3.

The right function is growing approximately 21 times faster than the left function (over the interval from 4 to 5).
