Hello.


It was the staging area for the invasion of Japan.This larger-scale invasion never occurred, as Truman elected to end the war by dropping two atomic bombs on Japan.The Americans planned to use Okinawa as a launching base for air attacks and eventually an invasion into the larger islands of Japan.

lwo Jim’s major step was "Long rang bombing" This is because there is a large space difference between Japan and the U.S. The bomb successfully hit the U.S.

That was the first bomb to ever go that far. Fearing a drawn out war with many more casualties, the US made plans to end the war quickly and force Japan’s surrender. They achieved this with the World’s first Atomic bombs.
