Write
(x(x+1)^2(x-5))/(x(x+2)(x-5)^3) in simplest forms. Show your work.

Answer:

To explain the other guy's answer simply, x-5 is the GCF (greatest common factor) so you take one of those expressions from the numerator and denominator.

You can also cancel the x on the outside of the bracket.

\bf \cfrac{x(x+1)^2(x-5)}{x(x+2)(x-5)^3}\implies \cfrac{(x+1)^2}{(x+2)(x-5)^2}


all we can really cancel is one of the (x-5) and the "x", is all.
