To find the area of the parallelogram, use the formula:

A = bh

A = area

b = base

h = height

Plug in the corresponding number to each place.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A = (2.5)(1.25)

Simplify

2.5 x 1.25 = 3.125

Round: 3.125 = 3.13

Area = 3.13

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

However, you want it in fraction form.

3.13 = 3 + 0.13

0.13 = 13/100

3 13/100

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3 13/100 ft²is your mixed fraction answer

hope this helps

Hey!

Let's change both decimals to improper fractions since you want your answer as a fraction.

2.5 = (5)/(2)

1.25 = (5)/(4)

Now multiply

(5)/(2) * (5)/(4) = (25)/(8) = 3 (1)/(8)

\framebox{Answer = 25/8 or 3 1/8 square feet}
