f(x) is an exponential function that grows increasingly negative as x (the exponent) increases.

g(x) is a parabolic function which opens down and has its vertex at (0,2).

Do the two graphs intersect? To determine this, let -5^x+2=-5x^2+2 and solve for x if possible. This could be done graphically, on a good calculator. The graphs intersect in two points, (-0.34,1.42) approximately, and (1,3).
