I believe the answer is: Cognitive

Cognitive psychologist tend to believe that the perception that people have would inherently become the basis of all of their other behaviours.

So, when a person perceive that he/she is incompetent and unable to do anything, all of that person's behaviour would be shape in a way to address that feeling of incompetency, in this case hoping others would always fulfill their needs.
