Write an equation in point slopeople form that passes through the point (1,8) & slope of -3 show all work now write the equation in slope intercept form

So we know that point-slope form is as follows:



y-y_(1)=m(x-x_(1))


The points (
x_(1) and
y_(1) correspond to the point given and m is representing the slope. So we plug in what the question gives us:



y-(8)=-3(x-1) <------ Point-slope form


Now we can take this form and simplify to give us the slop-intercept form:



y-8=-3(x-1)



y-8=-3x+3



y=-3x+11 <----- Slope-intercept form
