A cone shaped hat is shown: A cone is shown with slant height 14 cm and radius 6.2 cm. The unknown height is labeled with a question mark, and the line joining the tip of the cone to the base is perpendicular to the base. What is the approximate height of the hat?

Height for a cone with a slant height of 14 and a radius of 6.2 is 12.55. So the height is 12.55, the volume is 505.283, the lateral are is 272.69, the surface area is 393.453 , and the base surface area is 120.763

Use the height of the cone and the radius of the base to form a right triangle. Then, use the Pythagorean theorem a^2 + b^2 = c^2

6.2^2 + b^2 = 14^2

38.44 + b^2 = 196

Get b^2 by itself

196-38.44 = b^2 =157.56

Then sqaure root it which is about 12.55229063

See if that helps ;)
