1) sternothyroid muscle located in the base of the neck. it’s purpose is to depress the larynx (basically your voice box, it is responsible for producing vocal sounds).
2) biceps brachii is located in the upper portion of your arm, above the elbow. which helps control the motion of the shoulder (scapula) and the elbow. the purpose of the bicep brachii is to lift.
3) quadriceps femoris are located in the upper portion of your legs, also known as the thighs. the prefix “quad” means four muscles. the functions of the quadriceps include walking, running, jumping, and squatting. they are essential for everyday life.
4) latissimus dorsi is located in the lower portion of your back. it is responsible for extension, adduction, transverse extension, and internal rotation of your shoulder.
5) deltoid muscle is located at the top of your shoulder. one of its major functions include how it pulls the humerus (bone of upper arm) towards the clavicle (collarbone).
