slope-form equation:

y = mx + c
we have slope,

m = (1)/(2)
and point, x=2 and y= -4

Insert all of these into slope-form equation to find y-intercept, c

- 4 = (1)/(2) (2) + c \\ - 4 = 1 + c \\ c = - 4 - 1 \\ c = - 5

thus, the equation is

y = (1)/(2) x - 5
