if 1 inch equals 15.8 miles on this map.. and you need 1.5 inchs...
15.8+(15.8÷2)=23.7

One inch = 15.8 miles
.5 inch = 7.9 (1/2 of 15.8)
Since the two cities are 1.5 inches apart, add 15.8 and 7.9, which gives you 23.7 miles.
