This is a subtraction problem.
15.23 m - 9.54 m = 5.69 m
Answer: 5.69 m

Kim needs to throw the discus 5.69 m farther. I found this out by subtracting Kim's distance from the school record. Hope this helps. :)
15.23 m - 9.54 m = 5.69 m
