What’s the definition of self-harming behavior?

Answer:

Any behavior where the intent to deliberately hurt oneself WITHOUT suicidal intent.

Examples of this include -

Pulling out your own hair

Picking at your skin / scabs

Starving yourself

Over eating

Forcing yourself to throw up

Exercising too much (I.E. you've gotten to the point that your body feels like it cant go on, but you keep pushing forward)

It is an expression used to describe the act of hurting oneself, most of the time by cutting but also burning, breaking bones, hitting yourself etc. When one self-harms its a behavior of there thoughts and in life situations.
