You would get 2 equations.
x+2 = 3
x= 1
x+2 = -3
x= -5

Because you're trying to get the variable by itself so you subtract 2 on both sides and you're left with x < 1 and since it doesn't have or in between the equation you just make sure the signs are going the same way and change 1 to a negative 1
