Canada has struggled to develop a single national identity because people in Canada identify more strongly with their own regional and ethnic groups rather than with the nation.

National Identity is one's sense or feeling of belonging to one state or nation. Canada is a very large and very diverse state, so it is difficult to define Canada's identity.
