First, convert 3 8/10 and 5 7/9 to improper fractions:
• 38/10 + 52/9
Next, find a common denominator, which is 90:
• 38/10 * 9 = 342/90
• 52/9 * 10 = 520/90
Now add them together and you’ll get 862/90.
It can be reduced to 431/45 or 9 26/45.
