The constitution of the United States was a product of enlightenment because IT BUILT UPON THE IDEAS OF LIMITING GOVERNMENT POWER AND SUPPORTING INDIVIDUAL RIGHT.
Enlightenment refers to a period of intellectual awakening in the American colonies during the 17th and the 18th centuries. It was the ideas that were generated during this period that led to the American Revolution. The fundamental principle of enlightenment is that men are equally free and independent and they possess inherent rights, which no government has the right to take away from them. The American constitution was written based on this fundamental enlightenment principle.
