What does it mean that the rights in the First Amendment are not absolute

This means that the government will restrict someone's rights if someone else is in danger.

The First Amendment protects freedom of speech and the press. But the First Amendment is not absolute, because the right of speech is not absolute, the US Supreme Court has ruled that sometimes speech can be limited for example if it says obscenities, fighting words and if the words incite violence.

Also, the government can regulate speech by time, place or manner such as protests have to obtain a permit to be on public streets.
